Saudis buying American elections...

by rewinn

Saudi-funded groups have run ads against Senator Claire McCaskill, a Democrat in Missouri, as well as in support of Tommy Thompson, a Republican in Wisconsin. But in both cases, they’ve been able to conceal the spending behind a wall of secrecy, and under the banner of groups with “American” in the name.
Super PACs have to disclose their donors, so for a foreign corporation to spend big without ever revealing itself, a more practical vehicle to influence an election is something called a trade association, which can now operate as a PAC but without revealing a cent of its funding

...So when I happened across information implicating an arm of the Central Intelligence Agency in the cocaine trade, I had no qualms about jumping onto it with both feet. What did I have to worry about? I was a newspaperman for a big city, take-no-prisoners newspaper. I had the First Amendment, a law firm, and a multi-million dollar corporation watching my back.
Besides, this story was a fucking outrage. Right-wing Latin American drug dealers were helping finance a CIA-run covert war in Nicaragua by selling tons of cocaine to the Crips and Bloods in LA, who were turning it into crack and spreading it through black neighborhoods nationwide

Who will screw working Americans next?

by floorman2

Neo-liberals or neo-conservatives?
That's the "choice" we've ended up with. And neither of them listens to you. They do what the lobbyists pay them to do; take your money and use it to line the pockets of the corporations. They use the money you spend at Walmart to get congress to pass "free trade" laws that effectively gut working conditions in this once great country. They use the money you pay your phone bill with to get congress to squash internet freedom. They take the money you spend on health insurance and use it to pay legislators to stop health care reform.
Take a look at who controls Obama

Stop the CIA from selling cocaine here.
